Eco-Friendly Portable Modular Buildings

Frame

The structural frames all portable buildings are made from steel.

Structural Cladding

The durable structural cladding sections are made from Thermo Polymerized Rock. These TPR sections are sealed and bolted together. They are also bolted to the steel frame thus ensuring the integrity of the whole structure.

External Walls

The external wall cladding is a concrete polymer that is fixed to the Thermo Polymerized Rock Structural Cladding. The wall cladding can be finished as Brick, Stone, Block, or Render. The cladding is waterproof and also offers protection against fire, extreme weather and accidental damage.

Wall insulation

The insulation that sits between the sealed Thermo Polymerized Rock cladding and the internal wall is Tiger foam.

Internal Walls

Internal walls are of vinyl-faced plasterboard, providing a wipe-clean finish.

Floor

The floor is constructed on a rigid steel frame with under floor thermal insulation of 90mm Celotex foil-faced rigid polymer slabs, above the insulation is a ply floor covering which offers a sturdy and robust feel. The floor is integrated into the structure of the building. A range of floor coverings are available, depending on the purpose of the building.

Roof Trusses

The roof trusses (22°) are made from timber that comes from managed sustainable forests independently certified by the Forest Stewardship Council in accordance with strict environmental, social and economic criteria. The roof trusses are covered with OSB, which is then covered with a breathable roof membrane.

Roof Tiles

Preferred choices are roof tiles from recycled sources. Options include sheet tiles, tiles made from recycled nappies, or tiles made from recycled plastics.

Cailing and Roof Space Insulation

Ceilings are 12mm plasterboard, with 100mm of Rockwool insulation between the roof joists plus a further 265mm of Rockwool covering across the whole roof space.

Doors and Windows

Steel-faced doors have an insulating core that minimises heat loss. The anodised aluminium frame also incorporates draught proof weather seals. The windows have PVC-U frames and are double glazed with low energy glass for optimum thermal performance. Draught and condensation problems are minimised by effective weather seals and the low thermal conductivity of the window frame and glazing materials.

Insulation Values

All Buildings comply with The Building Regulations (England and Wales) and The Building Standards (Scotland) Regulations by the carbon emissions calculation method.
